How to read this
The three most recent releases, newest first, in plain terms. Each release says what it could not confirm. Orcyx is pre-1.0 and the installer is published for Windows x64 only; macOS and Linux are coming soon.
0.2.7 - 2026-10-01
- Updates show what is happening: downloading with a size, verifying the installer, then closing to install.
- An update downloads and verifies while you keep working, then asks before it closes Orcyx and tells you how many panes will stop. Cancelling closes nothing.
- Detach a pane into its own window and dock it back. It is the same terminal moving, a detached window shows only that pane, and detached windows come back on relaunch. Build runs and canvas workspaces cannot be detached, and the app says why.
- Reclaim disk from release build targets, web build outputs and shared developer caches.
- The update check runs every hour instead of every 24 hours.
- Launch is faster, and copy and drag carry only the text you selected.
- One pane is one terminal: switching provider or dictating affects only that pane, and a pane is never renamed by text that appears in its banner or a replayed transcript.
- The saved theme paints on first launch instead of flashing the default one.
Known issue: detach was checked by unit tests and a development build. A live move on an installed build has not been exercised yet.
0.2.6 - 2026-09-30
- A banner under the title bar announces an available update, with a restart-and-update button and a dismiss for the session. It shows at launch from the saved offer, so it works with automatic updates switched off.
0.2.5 - 2026-09-30
- The title bar update pill reads the new version, and its popover shows the version you are on.
- Opt-in polish for prompts sent from web chat and MCP messages, and opt-in transcript polish for voice before it is injected.
- Browser-control state folds into one status-bar chip.
